High School Football Player Dies From Head Injury Suffered During Game

The tragic news from New York is that a high school football player has died from a head injury following a hard hit by an opposing player during a game last Friday night.

We have previously blogged about studies linking head injuries sustained during football games to brain disorders. We've also highlighted legislation introduced to establish new safety standards for helmets for young athletes.

The latest news finds the Center for Disease Control and Prevention setting up guidelines for recognizing and treating concussions in young athletes.

  2. I think the program is liable as well. I expected that the coach and game officials were questioned by authorities. Still, this is considered as an accident which is a terrible one.
